Project of the Month

These programs allow talented underprivileged teenagers to fulfill their potential by providing them with a challenging program of enrichment and leadership training at the Ruppin Institute of Marine Science. Talented 7th graders from all backgrounds of Israeli society in the lower socio-economic levels are chosen - programs run for 2 years.

A 1-hour presentation of last summer’s spectacular total solar eclipse as ‎viewed by Mark and Heddi Keil in Oregon USA – narrated by Mark with ‎anecdotes and a wonderful collection of photos and videos, a little bit of ‎Einstein, and even some history!‎

MARK KEIL is an avid ‘eclipse-chaser (addict)’ and an accomplished ‎landscape/nature photographer. Originally from Canada, he made ‎Aliyah with his family in 1999. He is an academic research chemist and ‎physicist with professorship appointments in Canada and the USA. His ‎current research is in Quantum Optics in laboratories at Ben Gurion ‎University in Beer Sheva. ‎

He is planning on viewing the next total total solar eclipse in Chile, in ‎‎2019.‎
