Project of the Month

These programs allow talented underprivileged teenagers to fulfill their potential by providing them with a challenging program of enrichment and leadership training at the Ruppin Institute of Marine Science. Talented 7th graders from all backgrounds of Israeli society in the lower socio-economic levels are chosen - programs run for 2 years.

Arnon Tabic

who will speak on

“Tiny and Incredible: The Fascinating Life of the Creatures That Live on the Leaves in Our Back Yard”

Arnon will present some of the insects and mites that dwell in our vegetable gardens – their life habits, damage they induce to agriculture, and also the natural enemies that hunt them and assist in reducing their damage. The talk will be illustrated with slides and short films.

Arnon received an M.S. from the Hebrew University Faculty of Agriculture in Rehovot in Plant Protection and Biological Control. He has been working for the last nine years as an R&D Entomologist in BioBee Sde Eliyahu, a Biological Control company that mass produces beneficial insects and mites for agriculture. He lives in Kibbutz Beit Keshet in the lower Galilee with his wife, three children and a dog (and the insects in his yard).
