Project of the Month

These programs allow talented underprivileged teenagers to fulfill their potential by providing them with a challenging program of enrichment and leadership training at the Ruppin Institute of Marine Science. Talented 7th graders from all backgrounds of Israeli society in the lower socio-economic levels are chosen - programs run for 2 years.

T4T - Tips for Tutoring  

This interactive workshop will be led by Lola Katz, ESRA's Volunteer responsible for tutor training. The workshop is suitable for those who have tutored before and for those that are starting for the first time.

The workshop will include:
  • A discussion of issues which concern tutors
  • Some of the difficulties Hebrew-speaking pupils encounter when learning English.
  • Tips to help overcome these difficulties
  • Practical handouts to facilitate the learning process.
No previous experience or qualifications necessary.

Whether you're experienced or new, join other volunteers to share and hear their experiences, brush up on tutoring techniques and learn something new.

Lola Katz has an MA in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) from TAU and 48 years field experience in Israel, teaching English and developing language programs for student teachers, corporate executives and school children.
