Empowering Sderot Leaders

Students are trained to be Sderot ambassadors, participate in delegations abroad, and engage in debates, a model UN, and scientific programs.

The Problem

The youth in the development towns don’t often get enough support in their English studies and some of them are "left behind".

The Solution

Cooperation between ESRA and SYL (Sderot Young Leaders) led by youth in Sderot, help high school students to improve their English, leadership skills and participate in various social activities.

The Method

A professional English teacher prepares student leaders from all the SYL departments to be Sderot representatives for visitors and to participate in delegations abroad. The High School pupils receive English training for debating, participating in a Model UN, Scientific programs, Robotics and computers, and in return they help elementary school children with English, under professional guidance.
