Right Track Centers

Teenagers at risk receive professional help with homework along with afternoon social activities and army preparation.

The Problem

A huge proportion of schoolchildren from Israel's "better" neighborhoods employ the services of private tutors to ensure their academic success. But not everyone can afford such extra support, and it is often those who need it most who must go without.

The Solution

Right Track Centers provide not only afternoon social activities for teens at risk, its centers provide tutoring and help with homework for children aged 13 to 17.

The Method

Operating throughout the year, from Sunday to Thursday, 17:00 - 20:00, the centers are staffed by 9 professional teachers (funded by ESRA), social workers, youth workers, and ESRA volunteers. Tuition is provided in Hebrew, English, Mathematics, and Bible, helping each youngster through to matriculation level, to attain the best results possible. Additional activities include army preparation, counseling, drama clubs and access to computers, as well as films and lectures on a variety of topics.

Participants

A total of over 80 teenagers enjoy the services of the centers in the Netanya neighborhoods of Neot ‎Shaked and Hefzibah.‎
