SBC Scholarship Fund

Students from ESRA’s Students Build a Community project, are awarded grants toward their tuition in exchange for their giving extra hours of tutoring and mentoring.

The Problem

SBC students often come from distressed family backgrounds and may need financial support in order to continue their studies.  Already committing their time to working in the project, they may not be able to supplement their finances in other ways.

The Solution

From their 2nd year of participation in the SBC project, students who invest extra hours to further enrich the community – and most do – are given a scholarship.

The Method

After one full year working on the Students Build a Community project, the students may apply for an additional scholarship. In return, they commit to investing 3 additional hours of community involvement per week.
