This enjoyable lecture will introduce us with some of the great violinists of our time, featuring selected examples from iconic pieces by Bach, Paganini, Locatelli, and others. We will discuss various elements of violin playing, and compare different renditions to the same pieces in terms of interpretation, style, emotional involvement, etc.

Omer Shomrony is a prominent Israeli lecturer and critic of classical music. A popular lecturer since 1999, he teaches at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel-Aviv University, as well as various colleges of continuing studies. Over the years he had developed and taught dozens of music appreciation courses, which he teaches in either Hebrew or English.
Omer Shomrony had been the classical music critic for the 'Globes' Business Daily for two decades. Currently he writes for 'Opus' and 'Mostly Music' online music sites, and appears as a guest music specialist at various Radio and Television programs.
