The book ‘Never Alone’ is a joint collaboration of Sharansky and Troy which describes Natan Sharansky’s years in a Soviet Prison, his struggle as leader of the Refusenik movement and his eventual reunion in Israel with his wife Avital after 12 years apart, nine of which he spent in prison.

While discussing their book, Natan and Gil will also share their thoughts as to where Israel and the Jewish world are at present and their relationship to one another.

Natan Sharansky, since arriving in Israel, has served in many governmental positions both as a Knesset Member and also as a member of numerous committees in the Israeli and Diaspora world. He is a recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honour, the Presidential Medal of Honour and more recently the Genesis Prize.

Gil Troy is a distinguished scholar in North American History at McGill University.  He has authored several books including, The Zionist Ideas: Visions for the Jewish Homeland - Then, Now, Tomorrow.
