The fascinating story of one of the most ancient Jewish communities in the world. How did the establishment of the State of Israel affect this community, and what happened when the 1979 revolution in Iran put an end to the Golden Age enjoyed by the Jews during the Shah’s reign, and forced them to choose between Judaism and Zionism? Why did most leave, and why do the remainder insist on staying

David Nissan, born and raised in Iran, is an expert on Iran and the Middle East. For 16 years, he served as officer and commander in the Israeli Defence Forces, and another 7 years as a consultant for the Ministry of Defence. David has given lectures in leading companies and financial institutions in the private sector, universities, and government ministries including Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Office. He has been interviewed on Israeli national radio and television, has spoken in various forums outside of Israel and is on the keynote speakers list of the London Speaker Bureau.
