Events & Activities

As Israel's largest English speaking community, ESRA aids the successful integration of olim, both new and veteran, by providing them with a social and cultural framework including high quality services and events for all age groups. ESRA also works to bridge equity gaps in Israeli society through its education and welfare projects, which at the same time provide olim with volunteering opportunities that get them involved as contributing members of Israeli society.

One of a series of talks organised by ESRA Ramat Aviv in partnership with Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, Immigrant Absorption section.

Have you ever thought about the physiological purpose of the human body? Is there even such a purpose? For what did the human body actually evolve? Why does the volume of chronic diseases seem to be increasing? Is depression considered a disease of the third millennium? Why is it difficult for us to persevere with diets and an active lifestyle?

Prof Yuval Heled: Scientist, consultant, lecturer and world expert in integrative and exercise physiology, and former chief physiologist of the IDF Medical Corps. He is currently the head of the M.Ed. program of physical and health education in the faculty of science at Kibbutzim College, Tel Aviv, professor in the faculty of medicine at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, chief physiologist in Medix Sports Medicine Clinic, Tel Aviv and scientific advisor in the biotech and health market.
