Hike Haifa Trail

Hike Haifa Trail

ESRA Hike on Haifa Trail

Tuesday 18 February

This is the 3rd section of the new Haifa trail. The previous two sections that we have hiked have been fascinating and informative about the city of Haifa - and this hike promises nothing less. Today we encounter nature in the big city. We will hike down two streams on the western side of Mount Carmel – Nahal Siah and Nahal Lotem (could be slippery) – seeing nature blossoming at its best, at this time of year. We then move on to visit the interesting Muslim section of Haifa along a flowing brook, a dense grove of trees and a terraced garden, passing an orchard that was planted during the British Mandate. Our hike concludes as we head down to the sea with views of the coast and the famous port.
