Use your area of ability, whether it is your knowledge of English, or your sewing ability, or any other field of expertise, to help the individuals and groups who need your input.
If you have empathy with special needs children and adults, or experience in dealing with horses or other animals, you may find your niche in volunteering here.
Support & Welfare
If you have some spare hours in the week to help out at one of our second hand shops, or book shops, or to help pack items in our Food Aid programs, then please check out the volunteer opportunities below.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Volunteer in an ESRA Office
ESRA is continuously in need of office volunteers.
There are 3 types of help:
to commit to helping out on a regular basis, say for a few hours once a week
to offer to help on an irregular basis, for instance if help is needed to send out a special mailing, or telephone calls or suchlike.
computer friendly volunteers to help with graphic design of the Events sheet, and the social networking sites of ESRA and the ESRA Magazine on Facebook, Twitter etc.
Volunteer help is appreciated in all 3 of ESRA's offices:
Gan Rashal, Herzliya - the main hub of ESRA's English speaking and ECF activities - contact Sandra 09-950 8371
Beit Fisher, 5 Klausner St., Raanana - ESRA's drop-in centre and bookings office (and book shop) - contact Judy 09-748 2957
Areas of involvement include answering telephone calls, dealing with simple queries or referring to the correct person, addressing and stuffing envelopes, filing, photocopying, computer updating or just being on hand to help out generally.
You will be working in a pleasant air conditioned enviroment, together with other staff members and volunteers and feel you are contributing to the smooth running of a wonderful and worthwhile organisation.
Volunteer in an ESRA Shop
ESRA 'Nearly New Shops' are central in the lives of many new immigrants, foreign workers, young families etc. who can purchase good quality goods at very reasonable prices. We currently have shops in Raanana
and Kfar Saba
Raanana, Car park behind 102 Ahuza, 09-741 2631
Kfar Saba, 45 Rothschild, 09-765 4652; 050-535 4884
Volunteers always welcome to help with the various duties - come in to have a look around - you can ring first to get easy directions to the shop.
Volunteers commit themselves to come for a few hours each week to help sort, fold and sell the goods. Each shop has a professional in charge and guidance is given. Hebrew is an advantage, but not essential.
Volunteer drivers are also needed to collect goods from donors' homes.
ESRA now has three Second Hand Bookshops
and volunteers are always welcome. Please call the following numbers:
