One of a series of talks organised by ESRA Ramat Aviv in partnership with Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, Immigrant Absorption section.
In considering Rembrandt's late works, we shall open a discussion on the modern sense of self, on the meaning of old age in the life of an artist, on the complete uniqueness of Rembrandt's style and attitudes and most of all we shall ask what is love?
Jonathan Hirschfeld is an Israeli artist. He has a 2004 BFA from Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design, Jerusalem and a 2011 MFA from the Interdisciplinary program in Arts, Tel Aviv University.
In his paintings and drawings he uses world mythologies to evoke and to express personal, political and artistic ideas. His work maintains a close relationship to early Israeli modernist traditions and his unique approach to modernism places him in the heart of contemporary discourses.
