Education & Welfare Projects

ESRA, founded in 1979 as a non-profit, is Israel's largest English-speaking community, aiding the integration of olim while working toward equality in Israeli society. ESRA aims to help diminish educational and social gaps, especially in the socio-geographic periphery, focusing on education and excellence programs and enhancing personal and social skills in a safe and supportive environment. We also integrate English-speaking immigrants into these projects, helping them feel useful and contributing members of society, thereby serving our two significant aims.

Rain Did Not Stop Play in the Jordan Valley

In spite of the torrential downpours in January members of Jordan Valley Branch had a very enjoyable Games Evening in January. These Mah Jong mavens happily played in one corner

while other participants Jordan Valley knitplayed chess, backgammon, rummikub, bridge and Sets.

A new venture of the branch is a knitting group that meets on the first Monday of each month at different members' homes.

The photo shows Ruchama, the knitting group organiser (2nd from left), who delivered the first batch of hats for new-born babies to the English Hospital in Nazareth.

As you can see from the faces of the delivery ward staff they were very pleased. Keep knitting ladies !
