ESRA, founded in 1979 as a non-profit, is Israel's largest English-speaking community, aiding the integration of olim while working toward equality in Israeli society. ESRA aims to help diminish educational and social gaps, especially in the socio-geographic periphery, focusing on education and excellence programs and enhancing personal and social skills in a safe and supportive environment. We also integrate English-speaking immigrants into these projects, helping them feel useful and contributing members of society, thereby serving our two significant aims.

Tremendously popular bookshop offering recent bestsellers and children’s and youth books in English and Hebrew

The biggest focus of the ESRA Modiin branch’s volunteer activity, in terms of the number of volunteers involved, is the ESRA Modiin Bookstore.  The bookstore functions not only as the prime generator of funds for the branch’s philanthropic activities but also as the identifiable focal point for English speakers and the Anglo “old country”.  ESRA Modiin invites all of its members - new and old - to become a bookstore volunteer.  For more information about volunteering in the bookstore, contact the store’s manager Robert Golub: 052-3715151 / This email address is being protected from spambots.
