ESRA is Israel's largest English-speaking volunteering organization. Established with the aim of easing the integration of English-speaking immigrants into Israeli society, its supportive community network provides social and cultural activities, acquaintance with the Israeli environment, and opportunities for volunteering in the community.
Over time, ESRA's aims expanded to include helping a broader population. Today its additional aim, pursued with increased commitment, is to help diminish social and educational gaps in Israeli society, especially in the socio-geographic periphery. Through its community projects, ESRA focuses on providing education enrichment and support, promoting development of social/emotional skills, and offering financial support in times of crisis.
Involving our English-speaking volunteers in these community projects helps them feel contributing members of society, and thereby promotes ESRA's two major aims simultaneously.
