Laura Kam returned this summer after an almost five year stint as the wife of Israel’s Ambassador to Germany. With a rich biography of Israel-centered activity in communications, diplomacy, advocacy and business, Laura will share her insights from the unique perspective of a child of Holocaust survivors who served Israel, keenly observed Israel-German relations, and the situation of German and broader European Jewry.

Laura Kam is the English language spokesperson for the Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI) and President of Kam Global Strategies, an international strategic communications company in founded in 2012 after pioneering work with The Israel Project in China, India, Russia, and Europe as Executive Director for Global Affairs.

Kam’s work with the world’s leading pollsters internationally, as well as her involvement with research in the United States of elites, voters and college students has enabled successful strategic communications efforts worldwide.

She worked for the Anti-Defamation League in New York, Washington, DC, and Jerusalem for 17 years, including as co-director of the ADL’s Israel office. Kam previously worked as a press officer at the Consulate General of Israel in New York City.

Kam has a master’s degree in Social Work (Community Organization) and has completed all her doctoral coursework at the City University of New York.

The daughter of two Holocaust survivors, Kam was born and raised in New York. She made aliya in 1989 after her marriage to Jeremy Issacharoff, then a young Israeli diplomat posted to the United Nations in New York. After two postings in Washington D.C. for a total of 8 years Jeremy was appointed Israeli Ambassador to Germany where they served in Berlin for almost five years, returning to Israel in April 2022.

Laura and Jeremy have three children. Their two sons served as IDF combat soldiers; one was an officer during Operation Protective Edge and fought in Gaza for the duration of the fierce six-week war. Their daughter did National Service in a moshav in Israel’s periphery.
