ESRA Hike

ESRA Hiking Club invites you to join us again this year for another 2-day Hiking Experience.
Following the winter rains, and as spring blooms, we’ll set out on 2 days of amazing hiking in the
Golan Heights, with a delightful overnight stay at the outstanding Merom Golan Hotel.

Day 1 Hike
We start at Joyza, an abandoned Circassian village in the center of the Golan Heights, onto Alonei Habashan and then climb the Bashanit Ridge with its gorgeous oak forests. Our hike takes us alongside the Wind Turbines and past Ein Zivan, towards a stunning conclusion at Merom Golan. Moderate Plus
Day 2 Hike
We’ll be close by to start early at the Meshushim Pool with its famous hexagonal geology. Climb the ridge that separates Nahal Meshushim from Nahal Zavitan. We then descend to the lower section of the Zavitan Stream walk, to be followed by a tough hike and climb through the Yehudiya Forest Nature Reserve. Hard – but amazing!

Exact routes and details may change due to weather or local considerations.

The two-day trip includes:
• Luxury Coach – attached to the group for all travel needs
• Two full days of memorable ESRA hikes – with our veteran and knowledgeable guide, Reuven
• Overnight stay at the Merom Golan Hotel
• This is a high quality and unique hotel in a natural environment - inside the crater of an ancient dormant volcano. Set against an awe-inspiring backdrop of views of Mount Hermon, Mount Bental and verdant oak forests. We’ll enjoy excellent recreational facilities, nature, outstanding cuisine, landscaped green lawns and a covered, heated swimming pool open year-round! We will time our arrival to enjoy pre-dinner swim time!
