ESRA Hike

Welcome back to the 2023/24 hiking club.

We will start the hike at Shefia junction where we will follow the trail and begin and easy to moderate climb towards Zichron Yaakov.
We continue walking past some interesting and picturesque sights.
We follow an up-and-down trail down a short cliff to the Cabera cave. This is a prehistoric limestone cave in which evidence has been found of habitation between 60k to 48k years ago. In 1982 a complete post-cranial neanderthal skeleton was found and nicknamed Moshe. This alone is worth the hike.

Don't miss this first hike of the season which will be unforgettable when you see these caves.

Reuven has suggested we visit an amazing fruit and horticultural center on the edge of Zichron. There would be a fee to gain entrance of NIS 24. He assures me that this is a place not to be missed.
