This book is the story of an Ethiopian-Jewish family torn apart during Operation Moses - told from the perspective of the father in Israel, the mother left behind in Ethiopia with her four young children, and their 14-year-old daughter making the journey to Sudan.
The book illuminates a fresh, moving perspective on the deeply layered issues surrounding immigration, racism, identity, and the strength of the human spirit.
Kim Salzman has a degree in psychology and experience working with Ethiopian Jewish immigrants in Israel. She lives in Manof and currently works as the Israel and Overseas Director at the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh.
