09.15: Leave Haifa (car-pooling - see below).
10.00: Arrive Sindyanna of Galilee Visitors Center (https://www.sindyanna.com/about-us/overview/). We will have a 1-hour guided tour of the center including an explanation of Sindyanna of Galilee, watching a short film, an olive oil tasting workshop, light refreshments: a variety of traditional food tastings sold at the factory store, Arab coffee and herbal teas.
11.15: Arrive Kibbutz Hanaton. We will meet with tour guide Steve Grey who will explain about the ancient Mikveh uncovered at the kibbutz.
12.00: Meet with Rabbi Haviva Ner-David at the Mikveh or the synagogue (depending on number of participants) (https://rabbihaviva.com/) who will explain to us about the new Mikveh of the kibbutz, and tell us about herself, her first novel “Hope Valley” and her new novel “To Die in Secret”. She will also speak about her latest memoir, “Dreaming Against the Current”, and her children's book about the mikveh, “Yonah and the Mikveh Fish”. Haviva’s novels will be available for purchase.
14.00: Picnic lunch.
14.30: Leave Hanaton to return to Haifa.
15.30: Arrive Haifa (approximate time)
Transport will be based on car-pooling. Please book no later than November 15th, 2024, so that we can try to match everyone.
Please bring your own picnic lunch, water, and sunhat.
Please bring one folding chair per person to use for your picnic lunch.
